Titanic Experience & Artifacts In Cobh, Ireland

We visited Ireland and stopped by the cutest town called Cobh. It was a brief visit, sadly, as I would hae loved to explore more. But we did get to visit the Titanic Experience.

I've always been intrigued by the Titanic even before the movie, so whenever I can visit a museum, I am thrilled.

The former White Star Line building is somewhat the same as it was in 1912. If you didn't know, the Titanic made 3 stops: England, France, and Ireland. You get to see the building where passengers boarded the Titanic on April 11th, 1912 (or got off. A few people did disembark in Ireland!)

You wait outside these doors for the tour to begin. I recommend buying tickets beforehand as they sell out quickly. You can do this online or when you arrive, but if you want a specific time, I'd get tickets on the website. You can even save 10% if you pick a time slot before 11.

We liked the vintage suitcases set out.

Your tour guide will come out and lead you to the what remains of the deck Titanic passengers were on to get on the tender that would take them out to the massive ship.

Oh, and yes, you'll get a card with a passenger name on it to see if he or she survived the sinking. (Spoiler alert: mine perished. I am sorry Patrick O'Connor. He was only 23.)

And here is the what remains of the deck:

There is a Titanic themed restaurant nearby that we wished we could have tried, but we had to go.

You get to watch a video about the sinking of the Titanic and the history.

There's also replicas of the different rooms on the ship that are set up.

Here's third class:

And fancy first class:

The last part of the tour is a museum where you can see artifacts and other things from the Titanic.

This is a chair from that was on the Carpathia, which was the ship that rescued the survivors of the Titanic:

Yes, there is a store as well:

Oh, and there's a spot beside the museum where you can see the remains of the deck as well if you wanted to see it up close.

The tour took about 1 hour to get through. It's small, but it is fascinating to those who have always been interested in the Titanic. Plus, to see history up close is always interesting.

You can check when the museum is open here.

Do you enjoy museums?
