I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude.
Hey, It's Okay....
....to might be the only one who doesn't care to watch the giraffe give birth online.
....to have ordered a new camera. My current one is over 10 years old. This one is the Canon T6. I like that I can film videos with it. And it's WiFi capable!
....to can't believe my son will be fifteen on Thursday. He'll always be my baby boy.
....to think it's funny that everyone in my family wants to go out for their birthday dinner because I'm a lousy cook.
....to have teared up while watching the latest episode of This Is Us but have also gone, "Okay, but what happened to Jack?" I am so impatient.
....to be bummed that Bill Paxton died. I enjoyed him in so many movies, plus he was fabulous in the show Big Love.
....to have skipped the Oscars because The Walking Dead was on.
....to have had a blast at Sea World with my daughter. This was in a store. She didn't get a toy, because she has so many already. But she loves to look at them all.

Wow this is such a neat idea! We should be okay with the things that make us happy, shocked, or confused. Being okay with them helps us push through and find meaning to them.
ReplyDeleteSo sad Bill Paxton died!!
ReplyDeleteI am super bummed about Bill Paxton! He was an amazing actor.
ReplyDeleteThese are so funny! Especially the one about going out to birthday dinners because mom is a bad cook! Made me LOL!
ReplyDelete15!? Oh Tommy - you're growing up too fast.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the giraffe didn't give birth yet??
You are actually funny. Have you thought of doing stand up birthday parties or something like that. You definitely have talent.
ReplyDeleteYou are really funny. Why don't you think of doing some standup comedy at a local comedy club.
ReplyDeleteI cannot get enough of This Is Us! Such an amazing show. That last one though, like all of the episode, whew, just pass the entire tissue box please. The stories are so beautiful! And I am just like you, dying and dreading to find out what happened to Jack!
ReplyDeleteYour sense of humor comes through. I like that your content is relatable.
ReplyDeleteAww, I would totally have watched a giraffe giving birth! Amazing! Yeah, I didn't watch the Oscars either. Meh!
ReplyDeleteHooray for new cameras! I recently got one too and I'm in love!
ReplyDeleteI'm really loving This is Us, too, girl! I'm hooked.
I'm glad to see you had a nice week. :)

Bill Paxton was awesome, I didn't watch the Oscars, but I did watch the messed up ending.
ReplyDeleteI want to know what happened to Jack too. I bet it will be in the season finale. And it will be so sad! The giraffe thing is funny. I glance at it when I see it but I haven't stared at it for too long - she usually is just standing in the corner!
ReplyDeleteI am really sad about Bill Paxton too. I think that we own about twenty of his movies. He was such a great actor andBeth || www.TheStyleBouquet.com great guy from what I'm reading.

I love this idea! Mine is... It's OK... that I've lived in Brazil for two years and still am not fluent in Portuguese!
ReplyDeleteHey, it's ok...
ReplyDeleteTo be using disposable dishes for an entire week because I don't feel like cooking.
To take a nap when the kids go to school.
Not care about the giraffe either.
Mine will be 18 and 5 in October.
Do I really have to shave my legs? I'm single and it's still cold!!!
Love this!!
Love this idea! So fun and a great way to realize that things really are ok.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking at cameras for a while now, I want a new one. I dont necessarily need one but we know how that goes lol. We love SeaWorld!
Still haven't jumped on the "This is Us" wagon yet, but that's because I'm obsessing over Game of Thrones! EEK! There are only so many hours in the day! ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new camera, and happy birthday wishes to your son! Also, I skipped the awards too - but that's because I always do. And I'm okay with that.
ReplyDeletemy daughter knows that we keep on moving house at least after every 3-6 years so she knows she cannot buy more toys, Like your daughter she likes going inside the toy store and just look and touch them or play a bit very cute
ReplyDeleteHahah I really enjoyed this! Simple post but so funny and warm, thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteThis one is fun.I am tempted to write one too and share here. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your idea. It is fun to do a link up like this.
ReplyDeleteI have been watching the giraffe for about 5 minutes a day. I have other things to do so I watch it right before bed.
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying your "It's Okay" series. It' so powerful to actually write out the things you're okay with.
ReplyDeleteI need to watch This is Us. I know it's a show I would like, but I am not sure if I am ready for such an emotional investment.
ReplyDeleteI too skipped the Oscars! Was funny people's reaction on the flub at the end.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to stay in your pj's all day while I take care of blogging business. It's why I became a blogger in the first place. Richard B.
ReplyDeleteI felt sorry for the giraffe that it didn't have privacy. I liked the fact that there's a new baby but poor thing needed privacy.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! The giraffe. I was just telling my boyfriend I'm really glad I didn't have a camera on me the entire time I was in labor with our kids. Birth is tough for every living thing so I don't particularly care for the cameras on the poor animal.
ReplyDeleteI skipped the Oscars as well...Happy early Birthday to your son. My son just celebrated his 14th Birthday yesterday. Also, congratulations on your new camera. I love Canon's
ReplyDeleteThese are so funny! You have good sense of humor. Nice Post. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I am more thrilled watching Walking Dead than the Oscars. Please send my greetings to your baby boy on his Big Day.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new camera! But oops don't throw your old one yet.. you can make it as your souvenir and and gain inspiring post soon :)
ReplyDeleteSo sad about Bill Paxton. Loved him in Twister.
ReplyDeleteLove that you missed the Oscars to see the walking dead. My daughter would never have let my daughter get away with it. Ah well.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that Bill Paxton died either! It's heartbreaking. I've never seen an episode of This Is Us, I hear it's amazing!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing about your new camera.
ReplyDeleteI was sad to hear of Bill Paxton passing too, absolutely love him! Thankfully, my kids have almost gone past the "toy stage" and don't actually buy stuff from the gift shops when we're out an about!
ReplyDeleteEven though Mai commented for me, above, I wanted to add my voice and say it's okay to get on with living our lives outside the expectations of others. Live!
ReplyDeleteCan I say that I have never seen the first episode of This is Us?! I have heard a lot of great things about it so I need to check it out!
ReplyDeleteGosh, our boys are growing up! I can't believe we will have an 11 and a 15 year old on Thursday!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, what is the deal with giraffe? I haven't watched it either. I also didn't watch the Oscars, because hello, Walking Dead!
Super fun post dear!

ReplyDeleteI love this hey it's okay post. It's very timely for me because I am thinking of buying a new camera for myself.
ReplyDeleteI love Sea World too. And I didn't watch the Oscars or the giraffe. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to be a lousy cook on someone's birthday. That's the perfect excuse to go out and have some good food and a good time.
ReplyDeleteI so love taking my daughter to places like seaworld! I'm sure you both had a blast there too. It's so nice that she didn't force you to buy anything.
ReplyDeleteI love Sea World, my son really wanted to go again for second time.
ReplyDeleteDone feel bad I did watch the Oscars either. I love sea world. Me and the kids need to a trip there this summer.
ReplyDeleteHahaha I missed the oscars too!!! According to the internet so did a lot of other people because the rating sucked lol
ReplyDeleteI should do this, more often! to remind myself that it is ok not to go with the flow and hype in my environment.
