An Open Letter To Those Who Don't Understand The US Military
Dear People Who Don't Understand The Military,
I get it. You don't understand. But you have a right to your opinion. You should know, however, that our soldiers are some of the bravest people out there. They signed their life away. They work long hours for little pay. They are sometimes told at the last minute that they'll have to leave their families for many months. It's easy to sit behind a computer and type out things without fully thinking them through: we've all done it.
Please remember that our soldiers are the ones that help allow you to be able to express ridiculous opinions. Remember that our soldiers are the ones fighting for our freedom. Remember that calling a soldier a coward, or even hinting at it, is an insult not only to the people fighting for their country, but to the military families left behind. Maybe you don't think taking another life is heroic even if the person killed wouldn't hesitate to kill one of our troops if given the chance. It can be difficult to comprehend--but I assure you, if our soldiers weren't there, the United States wouldn't be what it is today. Yes, it is still a chaotic place, but it would be even worse without those who help to keep it safe.
So the next time you want to send out an ignorant tweet about our troops, perhaps say thank you instead.
Signed,
A proud military spouse

Well said!! Amazing how thoughtless people can be.
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! Yes!
ReplyDeleteEverything being said by stupid people in Hollywood this past week has got me fuming. My family is full of Vets and now my brother is in the Navy...if it weren't for our soldiers doing that they so bravely do every single day the idiots that hide behind a computer screen wouldn't be able to say the shit they say.
Amen.
ReplyDeleteYou tell 'em! I am so sick of people having no respect for those who are on the front lines protecting our country.
ReplyDeleteYES! Amen!
ReplyDeleteVery well said, Amber. I am going to share this so other people can read it.
ReplyDeleteWell said!
ReplyDeleteHear, hear!! Well said Amber!
ReplyDeleteI think sometimes people confuse their disagreements with government as disagreements with military. That's never the case for me. The military operates independent of party affiliation to protect all of us and our interests here and around the globe.
ReplyDeleteIt was so disgraceful to the military and our country. I for one know the sacrifices they make and the wounds they carry forever after service. They are heroes.
ReplyDeleteDAMN RIGHT what dumbass no good Hollywood trash
ReplyDeleteWell said lady!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't say it better!
ReplyDeleteAMEN!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen! I think you just spoke what so many military families are thinking..
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for writing this. I am so thankful for every military person and their entire families. Some people just don't get it.
ReplyDeleteI never ever want to appear even remotely ungrateful for our service members and their families. Our soilders are everything.
ReplyDeleteLoved reading this. My grandpa (RIP) was retired military and I'm grateful he taught me to have a healthy respect for our service members.
ReplyDeleteYou go, girl!
Well said.
ReplyDeleteUmm.. what?? Who on EARTH would say anything like that? Sheesh. I remember being in NYC once and seeing celebrities walk down the street and I couldn't care less. Then I saw some NYPD and firemen and I got a little excited. Then I saw servicemen and I got really... flustered. In a good way. It's just that I thought they were the people truly worth of my attention, and not like.. Tom Cruise.
